Hello Homeland!

Hi! My name is Sylvie, I am an east coaster at heart, with a passion for design and I am currently living in and loving Toronto, Ontario Canada. So..."The grass is always greener", that's how the saying goes... But after spending some time abroad I've realized it's the same color, you just can't notice when you're looking at it from up close! That's why I've decided to start this blog and appreciate this beautiful country and everything it has to offer.

Sunny saturday

This past weekend I had one of those really nice days, you know the ones, where things happen unexpectedly and the day ends with many happy moments that make you think wow… life is good. It started off with brunch with friends at the Gladstone where I had the best coconut chai latte, while enjoying the warm sunlight. This was followed by a walk down Queen Street where we popped in a few cute boutiques then stopped by Nadège for a few sweet treats. I tried the Cannelés and a salted caramel Macaron d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. Next up I found out one of my favorite singer/songwriters Basia Bulat was in town for the Juno Awards (Canadian grammys) and my friend and I were able to get tickets to see her play at the Great Hall. Days like this make me appreciate living in a big city, I love it here, always something new to discover. Friends, food, music, I couldn’t ask for anything more! Wishing everyone many happy days ahead

Spring

We’re getting closer, you can feel the shift in the air. I simply can’t wait to walk around the city and enjoy some sun… it’s been a while. Often I feel that in the winter we walk as if we’re on a mission, I guess the mission is to get back to a warm place and enjoying the scenery takes a back seat. But in the spring everything comes to life again and people have this renewed spirit, they look up at each other and around them. With the recent events in Japan I can’t help but think about how fragile we all are and how we shouldn’t take that for granted.
